How do l know so much about all of these subjects? Because l have personally experienced so many of these health problems.
I grew up living on a typical australian diet which was full of processed foods and soft drinks that contained excessive amounts of sugar, and many processed foods that contained excessive amounts of gluten.
Twenty six years ago, I used to drink four to six daily cups of coffee with two teaspoons of sugar in them. I used to drink stacks of coca cola because I felt so tired and unmotivated.
I also drank a lot of alcohol with coca cola, because I always felt stressful, angry and depressed a lot of the time.
Ever since I was a child I was very addicted to sugar and many processed foods containing gluten. I had no idea that sugar and gluten were the reason I was always stressed, moody, tired, angry and depressed.
Well all my bad eating habits eventually caused me to develop type 1 diabetes and hypothyroidism at the age of forty. I also found out that I had celiac disease.
When I stopped having sugar and gluten, I gradually stopped wanting alcohol. I felt for the first time in my life that I was really happy, positive and peaceful.
For the last eight years, every day was a challenge for me dealing with type 1 diabetes, celiac disease and hypothyoidism. To be able to cope with my three health challenges l focused mainly on helping others, and posting a lot of health information here, there and everywhere.
I think I have nearly tamed these three beasts in my life and now I am finally gaining control over them, instead of the other way around. I did this mainly by changing my diet.
My piece of advice to everyone now is don't do what I did, and have too many processed food and drinks containing excessive amounts of sugar and gluten during the week. Just indulge yourself with these delicious foods on the weekends, and on special days like birthdays, christmas and other celebrations.
